Community Activities and Events
HFCC is about more than training. We are building a connected and supportive community for Hackney foster carers, children, young people, families and professionals.
Our activities and events create opportunities to meet, share experiences, access support and enjoy time together. New events will be added as details are confirmed.
What we offer
Family activities
Family activities give foster carers, children and young people the opportunity to spend time together in a relaxed, welcoming environment. Activities may include family fun days, seasonal celebrations, creative activities, outings and shared experiences that help foster families build friendships and feel part of the HFCC community.
Coffee mornings
Coffee mornings offer an informal opportunity for foster carers to meet, talk and connect with others who understand the fostering journey. They may include friendly conversation, peer support, visiting speakers and signposting to useful resources. No formal presentation is required. Come along, have a coffee and be part of the conversation.
Support surgeries
Support surgeries provide a scheduled opportunity for foster carers to speak with the appropriate HFCC team member or invited professional about general questions, support needs and available resources. These sessions are designed to offer guidance and signposting. They are not a replacement for statutory social work, legal, clinical or safeguarding services.
Other events
This section will include other HFCC activities and community events, including celebrations, awareness events, networking opportunities, special projects and activities developed in response to the needs of Hackney foster carers and families.

A note on scope
Community activities and support surgeries offer peer support, guidance and signposting. They are not a replacement for statutory social work, legal, clinical or safeguarding services. If you have an urgent safeguarding concern, please follow the guidance on our Safeguarding page.
